The Toll Roads Violation

  • Use the Reference Number and a Violation Number in order to check the status of a toll violation or make a payment
  • The Reference Number and a Violation Number located on the Notice of Toll Evasion (simply enter the previous username for those who have used the Toll Roads Violation service before)

The Toll Roads Violation service is designed for those drivers who have violated tolls on state routes 73, 133, 241, and 261 in the state of California.  Those who fail to pay the toll violation will see the account go to collections and their credit score may be permanently damaged for failure to pay the toll.  Most drivers who do not use the roads that often should simply use the One-Time-Toll payment option within 5 days before or five days after driving The Toll Roads in question.

The Tolls Roads Violation Notes

  • Those who fell like the were wrongly charged a toll can dispute the charge
  • Payments by mail are accepted in the form of a check (please include the violation Resolution page or tear off the bottom portion and include it with the check)
  • Each toll violation is assessed a $57.50 penalty PLUS what ever the toll amount was

To dispute a Toll Roads Violation charge please file the “Contest of Notice” portion of the “Notice of Toll Evasion” which should arrive within 2 weeks of the violation.  Please include a written (or typed) explanation of why the toll is not valid and allow up to 4 weeks for a response via US Mail.  Under California Vehicle Code, Section 40255 and 40256 drivers have the right to file an administrative review/appeal within 15 days of receiving a rejected dispute (first a administrative review is filed and then if the driver is not happy with those results they can file an appeal).
